Oh my heavens... "IT" happened.. "IT" came like a thief in the night - and happened... Without warning, without sirens.. In the blink of an eye, in the act of an innocent swallow, I had my very first - and let's pray, last PB and stuck episode.. Oh my blessed heavens, I never want that to happen - never, never, never again.. Oh, it was my own fault. My owwwn fault. I have sinned... I was completely engrossed in a conversation over dinner and completely disregarded any band related rule that I was given.. Yes, ME! Little Miss OCD, chew, chew, chew - I have SPREADSHEETS for pete's sake!! I was eating a rather scrumptious (and completely within the guidelines) piece of the Hubs absolutely yummo grilled Delmonico steak and was talking with a dear friend I hadn't seen in ages who had come for dinner. I sliced off a huge, honkin' - pre band - piece, stuffed it in my pie hole, and without completely chewing it as per the band rules, I swallowed it while we were in deep conversation. Stuck. Oh the pain.... Oh the disgusted-ness of it all.... I politely excused myself and was able to.. uhm.. "dislodge" the offending morsel of food, but my meal was ruined. The hic-cups were unbearable and the mere thought of putting anything else in my pie hole (with the exception of coffee) for the rest of the evening was more distasteful than the actual act of being rid of it all. So, I did the old "push the food around the plate" move and voted for dessert on the sun porch. Sighhhhhhhh... Dessert was tiramisu, people!
That was my evening. I've been taking it very slow food-wise today, and am about to run into the office to get a few things done. Tonight is "girls nite out"!! Well, not really "out" out, but we're all getting together this evening at a friend's home. Should be fun. And believe me, I plan on being the most cautious bandster you know! In fact, I may just stick with liquid calories................
If you're in the path of Irene, please, please, please follow the mandates and stay safe. You're in my prayers.. Between earthquakes and hurricanes, I am reminded of that commercial for "Chiffon Margarine" - "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature................" Be safe!!
Until Next Time!

Lisa, We really can't put our guard down for a minute. I hope you are feeling okay today after that incident.
In the famous words of my baby Adrian, "DON'T TELL ME!" :(
I'm sorry you had to experience this, I hope it never does happen again, but welcome to the club!
That's no fun! I'm a slow learner though, it's happened way more than once!
I am such a slow learner! Especially when I am so darn hungry!!!
After having my own stuck/PB at lunch (at work!) today, I totally feel your pain. Here's to it never happening again!
Still no PB'ing here (but I haven't had a fill so I'm still in Lala land) ... sounds like you handled it well ... and I too remember the Chiffon Margarine commercial. I was her once for Halloween :)
So sorry for your episode hon. Hopefully it's not only the first, but the last too!
Have fun at girls night!
Uggg. I hope I never have to experience this! It is so easy to get caught up in chatting or catching babies before they fall out of their high chairs (oh my life) that I am sure it is bound to occur once or twice in my life!
Thanx so much for your kind comment on my blog. I look forward to following your journey. Tomorrow, starts a better week... Fingers crossed! Where do you live in PA? *Maria*~DiZneDiVa:"This One Time At BAND Camp...":1 vs 300 Follow my journey at mybigfatbandgeeklife.blogspot.com

Hi Sweet Lisa...it is a rite of passage...and it doesn't mean that you are not following the rules. I can recall PBing like crazy last month and I was following all the rules...hormones and the eat made me tight!
