Oh my heavens... "IT" happened.. "IT" came like a thief in the night - and happened... Without warning, without sirens.. In the blink of an eye, in the act of an innocent swallow, I had my very first - and let's pray, last PB and stuck episode.. Oh my blessed heavens, I never want that to happen - never, never, never again.. Oh, it was my own fault. My owwwn fault. I have sinned... I was completely engrossed in a conversation over dinner and completely disregarded any band related rule that I was given.. Yes, ME! Little Miss OCD, chew, chew, chew - I have SPREADSHEETS for pete's sake!! I was eating a rather scrumptious (and completely within the guidelines) piece of the Hubs absolutely yummo grilled Delmonico steak and was talking with a dear friend I hadn't seen in ages who had come for dinner. I sliced off a huge, honkin' - pre band - piece, stuffed it in my pie hole, and without completely chewing it as per the band rules, I swallowed it while we were in deep conversation. Stuck. Oh the pain.... Oh the disgusted-ness of it all.... I politely excused myself and was able to.. uhm.. "dislodge" the offending morsel of food, but my meal was ruined. The hic-cups were unbearable and the mere thought of putting anything else in my pie hole (with the exception of coffee) for the rest of the evening was more distasteful than the actual act of being rid of it all. So, I did the old "push the food around the plate" move and voted for dessert on the sun porch. Sighhhhhhhh... Dessert was tiramisu, people!
That was my evening. I've been taking it very slow food-wise today, and am about to run into the office to get a few things done. Tonight is "girls nite out"!! Well, not really "out" out, but we're all getting together this evening at a friend's home. Should be fun. And believe me, I plan on being the most cautious bandster you know! In fact, I may just stick with liquid calories................
If you're in the path of Irene, please, please, please follow the mandates and stay safe. You're in my prayers.. Between earthquakes and hurricanes, I am reminded of that commercial for "Chiffon Margarine" - "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature................" Be safe!!
Until Next Time!
