BYOC - Bring Your Own Crazy!

It's Friday, so it is time for BYOC - Bring Your Own Crazy!  We answer a few questions in order to get to know each other better and to give our blogging brains a break!  Copy to your own blog if you wish and ENJOY!

1)  Describe the structure you live in, (apartment, condo, house, mansion, cardboard box?)

I live in a two story home, about 5000 square feet.  We have six bedrooms, six bathrooms, two kitchens and a wine cellar. Our home is situated on about 50ish acres with a one acre pond - which houses five ducks.  I've posted a "Where I live" post (here) if you're interested in seeing pictures of the acreage or the insane asylum we call home.  It is an unusual home built and added upon by a very unusual lady!  We have hundreds of open acres around us which means there are no neighbors - yeah, that means I can run nekkie through the property and would only scare the deer - uhm..  maybe not...

2)  Describe the city you live in. (population, main attractions)

We live in a township of about 300 people total - the deer far outnumber the people.  Main attractions....  still thinking here....  main attractions...  do you count the flashing red light in town (about three miles away) as an "attraction"??  Actually, we are in oil country.  This "neck of the woods", in Titusville, is the "Birthplace" of the Oil Industry.  You can still see and tour the site where Edwin Drake drilled the world's first oil well in 1859.  I've been there so many times, I could give the tour - and don't forget your obligatory bottle of Pennsylvania crude oil!

3)  Why do you live in the town you live in (job, to get away from a different town, family, schools?)

We moved here so that the boys would have space - room to grow.  We had a pool, hunting, exploring, woods, bugs, animals - all the things that make a little boys life worth while.  Heck, we even had our own ball field on the property when the boys were younger - yes a baseball diamond!  The Hubs and I grew up in the big, bad, city and wanted a "small town America" place to raise the boys - and boy did we find it!  The schools are so small and intimate (about 10-12 per class) and the neighbors seemed to have jumped right out of The Andy Griffith Show.  Honest to Pete, I have a neighbor, Grace, who till this day sends us pies and other baked and canned yummies on a regular basis!  I have traveled the world many times over and wouldn't live anywhere else.


4)  What is the view like from your backyard?

I look out of my window in the office, or from the dining room and I see the pond - and what seems like miles of nothing - or everything, whatever your preference might be.  I see the "everything" that is, to me, true beauty...  trees, hills, grass, ducks and deer.  A sunrise.  Acres and acres of nature.

5)  Repeat question:  How has your week been in blogland and in real life?

Blogland has been nonexistent for me - well, blogging has been..  I've been reading - to keep my sanity and my wits about me as the craziness in this home doesn't seem to have an end in sight!  I thank all of YOU for keeping me grounded during this time, for without you I probably would be in a padded cell talking to the little people who torment me - or the plumbers..  I think they're one in the same...
